How to be creative without being artistic...
Updated: Jan 24
The words creative and artistic tend to be synonymous but the reality is that they are similar but different. If you google the word creative, you will get "relating to or involving the imagination or original ideas..." and of course we can't google one word without doing the same to the other, artistic "having or revealing natural creative skill". You see, artistic involves being creative but being creative doesn't necessarily mean being artistic.
Creative is taking all of your experiences, good and not so great, to help you make decisions. It is your everyday life. How many times have you looked in your fridge and pantry to "create" a meal out of whatever you had in there? What about make 3 different outfits by mixing up clothing combinations? This my friends is a creative mindset.
We take those experiences in life to come up with a solution to a problem, or ideas that we see among us to come up with our own designs. The likelihood of two different people coming up with the same idea, on the same topic, on the same day is very unrealistic. Why is that? No matter what similar ideas these may be, each person will add something slightly different, because nobody can be just like YOU. Even a set of identical twins will have different fingerprints.
Its up to us to create new experiences by trying new things, even those that we do not like, these experiences help develop your creativeness...helps you solve problems, create new ideas, design a beautiful masterpiece called life. Check out my Youtube video on this topic.
